Didn't like the grips on my every day carry so I used an old table top and got busy making some new grips, been a long time since I've done checkering but I pulled the old tools out and got to work. Made from asian hard wood (That's what they like to call it) we just call it rubber tree wood. Sand blasted with super fine aluminum oxide then stained with steel wool and vinegar solution then soaked in my sanding sealer which is 1 part Bullseye clear shellac and 5 parts denatured Alcohol. I love the classic look. @buddystacy
try that stain on one of your rubber tree pens it looks like walnut when it's done.
