This was one of the nicest scroll saw projects that I've done so far. The wood came from an oak tree in Thomasville, GA, and represents an even more famous oak tree in the same city. The wood was easy to work with and polished beautifully.
However, I discovered a variant of the "Measure Once, Cut Twice" rule, and that is, "Spell Check Is Your Friend!" Apparently, the family name had two T's in it. And no, I had no spare slabs to work with. I keep it as a reminder to pay attention to detail.
